Twin Glenrose Ram Lambs Born 12/1/2006

(Please note: These photos are at least a few weeks old by now and I am not a very good sheep photographer. More photos can be taken if interested parties desire.)

These ram lambs are 6th generation Glenrose Farm Dorsets! Their pedigree contains a significant representation of natural Fall breeding and a high degree of multiples. Not only do they carry Glenrose Farms genetics, but they also carry Carson, Hess and Edgar bloodlines.

The Glenrose Farms Dorset flock is a natural Fall lambing, aseasonal and strong multiples producing flock who raises their own multiples. Our ewes hold up very well under the accelerated schedule without grain on good hay and have adapted to grass in SW Virginia very easily. They received only a small amount of grain during their "real" eastern winter this year.

Our ewes are predominantly and naturally accelerated (lambing every 6-9 months at most lambing intervals) and aseasonal (lambing out of season without aid of hormone therapy). They lamb without assistance and are reproductively and structurally sound.

The flock is also footrot free. We have a very healthy 12 year old ewe who is gaining on grass so I believe the flock to be OPP and Johnes free, as well. Serology testing for at least OPP can be arranged.

Click below to view their pedigree, including the lambing production records of three of their ancestor ewes.

Carson-bred Adult Ram For Sale

Tank

Bred by Ken and Kathy Soder of K-Bar-K Farm in Pennsylvania, this ram is sired by Carson 1529 (a Fall born twin from the now dispersed Dr. Tom Carson flock of Iowa) and out of an Russ and Lynne Edgar-bred ewe, this proven ram is being offered for sale only because he is now very well represented in our flock.

He was born a twin in February 2003. He is out with his ewes for one last time here at Glenrose Farms and will be available in June 2007. Many daughters and a grandson will be retained for future use.

Please contact us about any of these sheep at info@glenrosefarms.com
