Herding Training- Glenrose Farms also takes dogs in for training and trialing for those owners who are unable to herd with their dogs themselves, but would like their dog trained and/or trialed. Custom training is available to meet most clients' needs, including trials and ranch dog training. The fact that we are a working farm allows us to train for either the rancher or trials enthusiast.

One of our board and train dogs, a Rottweiler trained and handled by Laura Noll and owned by Paula Cingota, Rottweiler Summerfield's Flyte Path HSAs, "Piper", is currently unofficially #1 Herding Rottweiler in the country. Summerfield Whispers Softly HSAs, "Secret" is officially currently the #6 Herding Rottweiler in the country (as of Nov 03) thanks to her earning 3 firsts and a second place and a High in Trial and Reserve High in Trial while completing her HSA title. Another frequent Rottie guest owned by Sheila Hannah and trained and trialed by Laura, Quiet Storm's Reign of Terror, "Rena", was in the top 10 Herding Rottweilers earlier this year until she completed the titles her owner was interested in completing (ratings obtained from http://www.frost-king.com/HerdingResults2003.htm). German Shepherd Dog Quicksilver's Quincy, owned by Betsy Hartwig and handled by Laura, completed her HSAs with two High in Trial and one Reserve High in Trial Awards. Unfortunately, the GSDCA does not tally a Herding Top Ten list. We expect to have four Rottweilers in the top 10 in 2004 when the results are published.
